Oleg Krylov - an artist from St. Petersburg
The first publication about creative work of the artist appeared in the newspaper "Leningradskaya Pravda", 27 of January 1977 in the article named "Renascence". This article told us about the revival by Oleg Krylov of the genre of the portrait miniature on porcelain which was lost in the middle of the 19th century. Oieg Krylov created more than 50 unique miniatures on porcelain working for different museums of Russia and he have got high references of these museums and of its visitors. Newspapers, magazines and TV programs told us about the unique creative achievements of the artist in this genre of art. The highest appreciation of his creative work was given in the reference of the State Hermitage Museum signed by Boris Piotrovsky. In the book "The Russian enamel miniature" dedicated to the works of Russian artists of the 18-19th centuries Oleg Krylov has been called the first among the successors of this genre of art. But in fact the achievements of the artist are considerably higher because he creates the author's realistic compositions on the layers which differ by its dimensions from the miniature. The particular success of the artist in this very difficult art technique connected with multiple bakings which change the paints colour is the brilliant sensible reproduction of the flesh colours. There are no artists in Russia or abroad who could accomplish the most difficult task of the author's realistic painting on porcelain layers. The works of Oleg Krylov have got high appreciation of the foreign experts in the Auction Catalogue "ROBERT DEVEAU GALLERIES" .His works have been acquired for the private collections of Italy, USA and Canada. Every professional who reaches the high skill in his field creates bis own skill level which he can't lower whatever he makes. The real artist can't lower bis skill quality. The creative work of Oleg Krylov confirms this thesis. He also works in the technique of water-colours and oil painting. The artist made about 30 water-colour miniatures and several canvas for different museum expositions, hi all he made about 100 portraits on porcelain, in water-colours and in oil painting. Every work was approved by two Experts Soviets: the Museum and the Professional Artists Soviet. His series of miniature portraits "The Ulianov's Family" made specially for the Central Lenin Museum in Moscow, were approved by the high level Communist Party Commissions. This gave rise to the rare professional skills of the artist and helped him to correspond to the most partial demands of different Soviets and Commissions.
