Portrait and figurative painting on porcelain, which requires many bakings, is extremely complicated and in the past centuries was successfully practiced by just a few masters. By the early 19th century, professional skill in this technique became rare.

It is quite evident that the loss of such high skills in the present and future generations is a great disadvantage to the continuation and development of the art and for the perception and understanding by the audience of subtle and exquisite aspects of painting.

Someone said that "miniature decorates and seduces nature by imitating it". That is why in realistic easel painting you can come across the true beauty of painting, which is capable of bringing forth the loftiest esthetic sentiments. Though they say that the world will be saved by beauty, they educate by performances and installations.

It is known that spiritual growth is not possible without contemplation of great works of art, while the education through elementary, non-professional creations impoverishes the soul according to Alexander Solzhenitsyn in his speech before the Academy of Sciences.

The author has managed to revive the complicated technique, elevate it to the highest degree of artistry and in 30 years create over 60 unique works for Russian museums, praised in their reference letters, including two from the State Hermitage Museum.

In his article Exhaustion of Culture published on 24 September, 1997, in the Moscow News, Alexander Solzhenitsyn was speaking of the modern world's technological progress, welfare, comfort on the one hand and utilitarianism and spiritual impoverishment on the other. He then called for the disinterested assistance to talents and financial support of the work of rare enthusiasts, who contribute to the preservation and development of high culture.

It would be reasonable now to begin a new stage, that of the transfer of experience and knowledge, which should be preserved for the future generations. While the first stage has been performed by the master alone, you might make your contribution to the second.

It would be possible now to prepare and publish a book on the techniques of porcelain painting in a form which would allow people to practice this wonderful elite art on their own.

You could take part in this project according to your ideas, wishes and possibilities.
