Highest Achievement of O. KrylovOne of both most complicated and attractive tasks in painting is the depiction of nude figures. Polychromy and harmony of colors of a real object result from the fact that as form changes, the color and lightness change according to specific laws. Light patches assume a warm corporal tint. Then follow cold undertones merging into a warm brown shade and then into some reflections. All these colors and lightnesses should be harmonized and interbalanced, as they change simultaneously. This requires a subtle perception and understanding along with the ability to use various painting skills, which are acquired over years of experience and knowledge of various secrets. Not to mention anatomy and expressiveness of movements, body depiction is one of the most sophisticated tasks in painting. Complexity is further added to by the fact that in real life our eye constantly perceives and evaluates esthetically these subtle color moves. For this reason, mistaken depiction of real changes may provoke negative reaction in the onlooker. Color may be exaggerated in a still-life with pears or bottles but not in the portrayal of a naked female body. For example, woman's breasts or other body elements should have the corporal tone from the viewpoint of both lightness and harmony of color moves following their shape. The master is unique, because the most complicated task of corporal tones is perfectly performed by him in porcelain painting, watercolor and oil on canvas. The novelty is in the solution of supercomplex problems of painting rather than various commercial non-professional "dyeings" or "infantile colorings". O. Krylov
